Maltby

The layout now has a new owner

I looked around the Louth area to find another place beginning with an 'M' and there not that far from Muckton was Maltby, not to be confused with the one in Yorkshire, its claim to fame being some springs. Looking at the map I noticed Bully Hill and so the building with the sliding door became the Bully Hill Beef Company and an excuse for the cattle wagons I like making. After making the Y7 loco for Muckton I rather liked its smaller brother the Y8 and Maltby is an ideal setting for the loco.

This is the track plan

The coal staithes not in that much use now cleaned a bit by the persistant rain, the open door with the I beam is the Bully Hill Beef Company and the wooden building was the Maltby Spring Water Companies original premises, now a sort of goods shed with a side cart loading facility after said side fell down.

Loco water and coal and the foreman/storeman standing on the little platform of the 154 Sonnet Company, Printers to the Poets and the poor chap is subject to much leg pulling by the staff of the Bully Hill Beef Company.

The platform and works of the Malby Spring Water Company on the right is their new pipe from the spring into the works and the rather odd looking wagon second left is to carry away slurry. As you can see painted to resemble the contents.

A video of the layout,
